Junction improvements on Morgan Street
This junction of Morgan Street with Tredegar Square has been a hot spot for traffic collisions and crashes. Residents in the area may remember the car that overturned on Tredegar Square in December 2023. Since 2020, this junction has seen 6 crashes which appears on the UK Crash Map, so there is clearly a problem here.
After the crashes, I asked for speed reduction infrastructure, like a raised table or speed bumps, but was told by the council’s transport officers that the council doesn’t have money for them.
But I never like taking ‘no’ for an answer and kept thinking about how to improve things. I realised that the road markings were faded and the signs were vandalised or not clear. These are both things that the council has a legal duty to maintain properly, so money has to be found to remedy them.

I reported the faded signs and road markings and after a few months, they have been fixed!

Hopefully these improvements will make drivers slow down at the junction and avoid crashes in future.
Have you seen faded or vandalised road signs elsewhere? Let me know and I will try to get it fixed.
